Mattawa Minor Hockey Association is looking for some support once again this civic holiday weekend (August 3-6, 2018). We are accepting 16 men’s teams and 8 co-ed teams. What a great way to support our young athletes! Even if you don’t play ball, you can stop by the beer tents for a drink or two. All proceeds go towards Mattawa Minor Hockey.
This tournament is very popular!
Mattawa Minor Hockey is beginning another great hockey season.
Minor Hockey provides our young people with the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment which provides coaching in team play, discipline, exercise, respect and interaction with other players and teams from across our area.
We are grateful for the support of our volunteer coaches and their team support staff and our sponsors who all make it possible for our children to participate in this activity throughout the winter.
To provide additional funding to support our activities and attendance at tournaments, Mattawa Minor Hockey players will again be selling Quebec maple syrup as a fundraiser.
Starting November 1st, our players will be selling the fresh maple syrup in 1 litre bottles for $20.00.
Enjoy our great maple syrup!
We hope that everyone will support our players!
MMHA Director Dan Landriault thanks Terry Belanger, owner of Terry’s Auto and Belanger Taxi for the donation to MMHA. Terry has supported the young athletes for a number of years. MMHA executive, coaching staff, parents, and the Mattawa Rockets very much appreciate the continued commitment to young athletes in our community.
MMHA Director Dan Landriault thanks Mattawa Fire Chief Chad Belanger for the generous donation of $900.00 by the Mattawa Firefighters Association. The funds were used to purchase trainer duffel bags for each division in the league, six (6) bags in total. Each bag has a custom label identifying the division and the logos for the Mattawa Rockets and the Mattawa Fire Department.
The funds were also used to fill the bags with items custom fitted for the age group in each division. Items that can be found in each bag include a spare neck guard, mouth guard, skate laces, helmet repair kit, skate stone and quick sharpener, helmet chin strap, shin tape, stick tape and spare medical supplies for first aid kits.
MMHA and the Rockets thank Mattawa Fire Department for making the on ice experience safer for players of all ages !
MMHA President Logan Montreuil gratefully accepts a $250.00 donation from David Spencer, secretary of the Mattawa Lions Club.
